CityBlock accommodation receives ANUK accreditation across the board

CityBlock, a leading provider in the development and management of high quality student accommodation across the UK, has received ANUK accreditation across all of its properties.

CityBlock’s purpose-built student accommodation developments in Lancaster, Reading and Durham underwent ANUK assessment in late 2017. Choosing an accredited provider gives tenants the reassurance of knowing that their accommodation has been recognised as offering a high quality of service and housing.

With positive feedback across all developments, CityBlock’s Penny Street development in Lancaster passed the assessment with no action points identified, with the team credited on the positive impact it has on students.

ANUK is a national organisation, supported by the National Union of Students, in which suppliers of rented housing voluntarily agree to meet a set of benchmark standards relating to the physical condition of the accommodation, housing management and the relationship between landlord and tenants. This includes health and safety, welfare provisions, the booking process, maintenance, certificate compliance and overall student happiness.

Alison Bargh, Operations Director at CityBlock, said: “CityBlock has a proven track record of providing top quality purpose-built student accommodation and our recent ANUK accreditation is a testament to that. All of our accommodation is designed with student mental health and wellbeing in mind, with our residents at the heart of everything we do.

“We regularly conduct research with our residents to determine what they want and need from their student accommodation, and design our buildings, and the amenities included within them, based on this. This ensures we have happy students, that feel listened to and engaged with.

“We are very proud to have achieved this accreditation and will continue to provide superior quality accommodation and levels of care to our students.”
