Trevor’s background is permeated with business sustainability and growth. Starting in manufacturing with Courtaulds and Amtico in 1977, Trevor has since advised numerous start-ups, high growth entrepreneurial businesses and major international companies both in the U.K. and U.S.A. His successful career in consultancy also includes international experience in Saudi Arabia, and the acquisition of national awards for best practice marketing. Trevor has worked as the UK representative for a number of U.S. states, advising on trade and investment and is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Consulting.
Purchasing his first commercial regeneration property in 1989, an unloved building in Lancaster, Trevor founded CityBlock in 2002 and listed on AIM in 2004. The company was taken private in 2007 and is now privately owned. CityBlock has undertaken over 20 schemes, investing over one hundred million pounds into successful challenging and innovative projects across the country and creating hundreds of jobs. Trevor is passionate about customer service and delivering on promises.
He was voted North West Entrepreneur of the year (2005), and was formerly a charity trustee and governor of the Lancaster Royal Grammar School for 15 years.
Trevor lives in Lancaster. He enjoys rugby, cricket, drinking good beer and wine, living a busy life and holidays with his wife Alison and their 3 sons.
Alison consistently achieves results through her determination to succeed and her passion for customer service excellence and building relationships.
Her early experience was as a Chartered Physiotherapist working in the UK for the NHS and later overseas. She then moved to Lancaster and became Director and Shareholder of a national bridalwear retail chain, a business that she ran successfully for 16 years.
In 2002, CityBlock was formed with Alison as Director and Chief Operating Officer. With over 20 schemes and an investment of over one hundred million pounds, Alison is responsible for commercial, residential lettings and facilities across all sites including the operational design of new projects. Alison has more than 30 years’ experience of direct sales and customer relations. She has developed the CityBlock brand and cultivated its reputation as an innovative market leader.
Manchester-born, Alison currently lives in Lancaster. She is an avid Manchester City supporter and enjoys spending time with her family.
Martin is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 10 years’ experience in project delivery and property development across a number of sectors. Having trained at international consultancy practices, Martin spent a number of years working for the Mansion Group, developing an expertise in purpose-built student accommodation. He then set up his own property development business delivering student accommodation to institutional investors before joining CityBlock as Development Director in April 2016.
Martin lives in Liverpool with his wife and the love of his life, his French Bulldog Nona. When not walking his dog, he’s travelling around the North of England to watch Norwich City lose.
A senior member of the CityBlock team, he is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and has a wealth of high-calibre expertise and experience from globally renowned enterprises. Having graduated from Sheffield University in 1993 with a Dual Honours degree in Geography and History, Dan moved into management roles at Vodafone and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, before joining KPMG in 1998.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001, Dan progressed to Audit Senior Manager at KPMG before leaving in 2012. He joined the Westmorland Group – owner of Tebay and Gloucester Services – as Head of Finance later that year, where he remained until becoming Head of Finance with CityBlock.
Dan is married with 2 children and lives in Garstang, near Lancaster along with a rabbit and 3 fish. He enjoys running in his spare time and watching football and cricket.
He is a long-suffering season ticket holder at Bolton Wanderers.
Samantha has over 22 years’ experience in the housing and residential sector, holding a variety of roles during that time. Prior to joining CityBlock in 2018 she spent 12 years at Sanctuary Group, most recently as Operations Manager in its student accommodation division.
As Head of Operations for CityBlock, Samantha is responsible for the management of the accommodation blocks, including health and safety procedures, ongoing operational budgets, resident satisfaction and managing partnerships with third party suppliers. Samantha also oversees CityBlock’s site teams to ensure all sites in its portfolio continue to achieve 100% occupancy and deliver exceptional customer care.
Samantha lives in Manchester and enjoys walks with her dog Wilson.
Following a variety of roles in the banking, aviation and tourism industry, Bev’s first move into the built environment came when she began a role as Special Projects Manager for an overseas property developer in 2005.
Consulting with third party suppliers, managing a team of 10, co-ordinating exhibitions and driving hugely profitable divisions within the company, Bev gained invaluable experience in the field of international property development, before pursuing her first role as an executive assistant with a high profile risk management and training consultancy in Dubai.
Bev’s pivotal role with CityBlock is to drive and coordinate development and investment activities. Away from the office, her main passion is caring for rescue dogs.
Andrew joined CityBlock as Urban Design Manager in 2018, taking responsibility for ensuring all CityBlock developments are designed in line with key company values and with residents at the heart. Andrew has also been integral to the launch of CityBlock’s residential arm, The Urban Project, which aims to transform derelict industrial buildings across the UK into unique living spaces.
Andrew’s background is in design engineering where he has experience as a Design Quality Engineer for Johnson & Johnson. After graduating with a degree in Product Design Engineering from Loughborough University, Andrew founded Solvo Design – a digital platform where he has created a community around sustainable solutions to excite people with the possibilities of innovative and responsible design. Studios and students are able to showcase their own sustainable product designs, helping to promote a better way of thinking about future products.
To supplement his design knowledge, Andrew is currently undertaking a part time Masters degree in Real Estate Development. This degree aims to build on his know-how of the design process to develop a strong understanding of the development stages within the property industry.
Andrew lives in Manchester and when he is not working or studying he enjoys travel, playing rugby and eating all kinds of Asian food.
