TREVOR BARGH – CHAIRMAN/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Trevor’s background is permeated with business sustainability and growth. Starting in manufacturing with Courtaulds and Amtico in 1977, Trevor has since advised numerous start-ups, high growth entrepreneurial businesses and major international companies both in the U.K. and U.S.A. His successful career in consultancy also includes international experience in Saudi Arabia, and the acquisition of national awards for best practice marketing. Trevor has worked as the UK representative for a number of U.S. states, advising on trade and investment and is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Consulting.

Purchasing his first commercial regeneration property in 1989, an unloved building in Lancaster, Trevor founded CityBlock in 2002 and listed on AIM in 2004. The company was taken private in 2007 and is still privately owned. CityBlock has undertaken over 20 schemes, investing over one hundred million pounds into successful challenging and innovative projects across the country and creating hundreds of jobs. Trevor is passionate about customer service and delivering on promises.

He was previously voted North West Entrepreneur of the year , and was formerly a charity trustee and governor of the Lancaster Royal Grammar School for 15 years.

Trevor lives in Lancaster. He enjoys rugby, cricket, drinking good beer and wine, living a busy life and holidays with his wife Alison and their 3 sons.

ALISON BARGH – CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Alison consistently achieves results through her determination to succeed and her passion for customer service excellence and building relationships.

Her early experience was as a Chartered Physiotherapist working in the UK for the NHS and later overseas.  She then moved to Lancaster and became Director and Shareholder of a national bridalwear retail chain, a business that she ran successfully for 16 years.

In 2002, CityBlock was formed with Alison as Director and Chief Operating Officer.  With over 20 schemes and an investment of over one hundred million pounds, Alison is responsible for commercial, residential lettings and facilities across all sites including the operational design of new projects.  Alison has more than 30 years’ experience of direct sales and customer relations. She has developed the CityBlock brand and cultivated its reputation as an innovative market leader.

Manchester-born, Alison currently lives in Lancaster. She is an avid Manchester City supporter and enjoys spending time with her family.

DEBORAH ROSS – GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

As a Chartered Management Accountant for over 20 years, Deborah’s experience is varied, working in defence, manufacturing, engineering and oil & gas, where she has built a reputation as a commercially astute and diligent finance professional. In her previous role, Deborah provided support in both a Finance and HR capacity to the whole UK business, and prides herself on her strong relationship skills. Deborah’s success in her last role was recognised when she was awarded the accolade of Country Finance Leader of the year against her international counterparts in a global business, before joining CityBlock in November 2019.

Deborah lives in Kendal with her husband and two sons. She is a passionate amateur baker – on one occasion making a wedding cake for a friend which she found very rewarding, yet stressful! She also enjoys travelling and tries her best to keep fit through running and attending the gym

SAMANTHA DAVIES – HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Samantha has over 22 years’ experience in the housing and residential sector, holding a variety of roles during that time. Prior to joining CityBlock in 2018 she spent 12 years at Sanctuary Group, most recently as Operations Manager in its student accommodation division.

As Head of Operations for CityBlock, Samantha is responsible for the management of the accommodation blocks, including health and safety procedures, ongoing operational budgets, resident satisfaction and managing partnerships with third party suppliers. Samantha also oversees CityBlock’s site teams to ensure all sites in its portfolio continue to achieve 100% occupancy and deliver exceptional customer care.

Samantha lives in Manchester and enjoys walks with her dog Wilson.

REBECCA MILLAR – STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND MARKETING MANAGER

Rebecca has previously held essential marketing positions at Crowne Plaza and Bella Italia. She was responsible for organising marketing events across the country to develop company sales.

After graduating with a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management and Marketing from Liverpool Hope University, Rebecca joined CityBlock in 2018. As Student Engagement and Marketing Manager, Rebecca is responsible for overseeing all marketing activities within the CityBlock Group – ensuring that the online presence of the company is communicated clearly to potential residents and professional partners.

Rebecca lives in Lancaster and loves taking her dachshund, Ruby, for long walks.

RAQUEL COSTA – EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Before joining the CityBlock team in 2019, Raquel worked as an Operations Manager in the Hospitality Industry in the popular tourist destination, the Algarve. Raquel is an experienced office administrator and project manager with a strong interest in Marketing. She provides administrative and executive support to the CEO – Trevor Bargh, helping manage his expansive portfolio of responsibilities and commitments.

Having recently moved to Lancaster from the Algarve with her husband, three children, cat and dog; Raquel enjoys traveling, cooking and many other activities with her family.
